This historic stone arch crosses a small creek, between Merrimac and Lodi.
The bridge is a double track structure. Originally built in 1879, the bridge was widened in 1896.
The reason for this is, the railroad expanded the arches instead of completely replacing them. This was a cost effective way to double track a route.
The arch is small, and mostly flooded from the creation of Lake Wisconsin. The bridge appears to be in good condition still.
The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
The photo above is an overview. The bridge can be seen from WI-113.
